Description Allen Winter 2011-11-15 21:15:54 UTC
Version: Git (master) (using Devel)
OS: Linux

For some reason my configuration set "Maximum number of recipient editor lines" to 1. No idea how that happened, but it did.

Now, when I replied to a message having 2 To addresses and 3 CC addresses I got the dialog "Sorry: Truncating recipients list to 1 of 4 entries".

I don't think that should happen. I think when replying or forwarding that configuration option needs to be ignored so no recipients get lost.

Heck, I'm not even sure why we have this option (probably from the days when we changed over to the new-style recipients editor)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
In the KMail Composer settings, General tab: set the Maximum number of recipient editor lines to 1 and then "Reply to All" a message with more than 1 recipient (To: addresses + CC: addresses)

Actual Results:
some of the people on the Reply To All list get truncated from the recipients

Expected Results:
everyone on the Reply To All list are entered into the recipients. when I say reply to All I should get all of them.

This is quite annoying. I confirm it on Kmail 4.7.3. Please fix this. Kmail2 has enough problems.

Note: changing MaximumRecipients line in kmail2rc from 1 to 200 fixes this problem.

Already fixed in 4.7.4. (lose data)
But I close this bug as wontfix otherwise this config is not usefull

Laurent, I disagree.

The reason this option exists is for people who disliked the new recipients editor and wanted to keep only 1 To: line when *composing* a message.

basically, I think this option should be ignored in all other cases, like replying or forwarding.

but in the end it's your call.

This option which never worked as it.
It already signaled that you will create more recipients when we reply/forward emails.
It never used when we add new emails in recipients.
