This problem have been fixed in current implementation from git/master (next 2.3.0) by Marcel. Look here for details : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=282194#c30 Please, checkout digiKam Software Compilation code from git/master: https://projects.kde.org/projects/extragear/graphics/digikam/digikam-software-compilation/repository ...compile and install it, and confirm that crash is fixed.
