Description bruceM 2011-11-01 04:40:21 UTC
Version: 4.7.2 (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS: Linux

I'll have a couple of tabs open in Akgregator, then I go back to the articles tab for the lists of unread feeds and Kubuntu instantly restarts.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
It happens fairly regularly, but my attempts to intentionaly reproduce it failed. Step by step would be: having a couple of tabs open in akgregator, then click the articles tab.

Actual Results:
Kubuntu restarted, and I'd have to login again and reopen all applications. Usually I'd have a couple of LibreOffice Calc spreadsheets open and a brower or too.

Expected Results:
Simply open the articles tab with unread feeds showing.

I'm running Kubuntu 11.10. I'm a little disappointed in this latest release. Everything also seems very slow. Many times Firefox hangs, slows right down until I eventually restart it (get message Firefox is not responding), Google Chrome also seems to be very slow. I also find KMail2 has slowed right down sometimes, especially when I drag & drop emails to different folders.

Doesn't sound like a kontact or akregator issue if your whole session restarts.

When you encounter this issue again, try this:

When you're back on the kdm login screen, before relogging, go to a tty (ctrl-alt-F1), log in, make a backup of ~/.xsession-errors

then (typically) alt-F7 to switch back to kdm and relog

This way, you will be able to see what happened.
