Description Lastique 2011-10-22 19:52:30 UTC
Version: 0.0.1 (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS: Linux

When I create a new application item in some category, the editor seemingly applies the changes but the created item is not created. It doesn't show in the applications menu and if Menu Edit is restarted, it doesn't show there either.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Right click on the Kickoff Application Launcher, select "Edit Applications..."
2. Select some application category.
3. Press "New Item", specify the application name and executable command line.
4. Press "Save", a window about updating system configuration will show up.
5. Close Menu Editor.

Actual Results:
The created item is not present in the Kickoff Application Launcher. If you open Menu Editor again, the item isn't there either.

Expected Results:
The application item should be created. Or, if there is some problem with applying changes, it should display a message about what's wrong.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.37.6-63-desktop
Compiler: gcc
