Description michael 2011-10-18 18:49:23 UTC
Version: 1.99.0 (using KDE 4.7.0)
OS: Linux

May be similar to CLOSED bug 276735, just downloaded all my messages into a POP folder, and expected to be able to navigate to the next message using arrow keys, or the next unread using the '+' key, however neither action works. Of course, there may be other problems here (eg, when I hit ALT+TAB when 'Go' submenu is selected, it traps the ALT+TAB behavior, and instead acts as down+arrow.) But when you select the 'Go' submenu, the next unread item is greyed out, even though the messages are blue highlighted as unread. The only way I can find to navigate is using the scroll bar and clicking on the next message with the mouse

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Download messages, select sub menu item go, and the next unread message is greyed out.

Actual Results:
Nothing

Expected Results:
Show a link to '+' action for next unread message.

OS: Linux (i686) release 3.0.0-12-generic-pae
Compiler: gcc

I ran into a version of this too; in a threaded folder, down-arrow and up-arrow would alternate between navigating on a thread and folding/unfolding it, with problems navigating between threads.

I found a workaround -- go to settings -> Configure KMail -> Appearance -> Message List and change the Default Theme to Classic; then things work fine.

While you're at it, you should probably change the bug title to something that describes the problem rather than the environment.

(KMail 4.7.3 on KDE 4.7.4 from Ubuntu 11.10).

That's right and left, of course.

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
