- What I was doing when the application crashed: After upgrading to 11.10, while attempting to modify the Application Appearance setting, app would crash on clicking tha Application appearance icon.  Using a right click instead of the normal left click usually prevented the crash.

Once inside the selection, the application was also likely to crash when clicking on the "icons" button in the side panel.

Also, for some reason all of the icons and buttons in the toolbar and side panels were dimmed and a different color.  I had to go through every item in the 'Advanced' list of the icons window and click the 'Defaults' button at the bottom of the window.  After closing the System Settings app, it finally came back to its normal appearance on a relaunch.

I had previously installed the Openbox window manager and booted into KDE with that.  My suspicion is that doing this may have somehow corrupted the configuration in the Plasma version of the KDE environment.

The crash can be reproduced every time.
