Description Zayed Al-Saidi 2011-10-15 16:10:25 UTC
Version: 4.7.2 (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS: Linux

In KDE 4.6 and earlier, Akregator's system tray icon display the count of unread articles. But in KDE 4.7, I lost this feature. Please fix this regression.

This should be fixed by either the old way (display the count over the icon of Akregator) or offer a small widget for this purpose.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1-Run Akregator.
2- In the opetions, choose to display the count of unread articles in the system tray.

Actual Results:
the count of unread articles will be display in the box which shows on hover.

Expected Results:
The unread count should be display on the system try directly.

OS: Linux (i686) release 3.0.0-12-generic
Compiler: gcc

Kubutnu 10.10 Akregator bug of the count of unread articles

This bug in Kubuntu 11.10 after upgrade from 11.04

One more thing, the count sometimes works after I wake up the system from suspension-to-RAM.

Still unable to reproduce. I'm not sure where your greyed icon comes from, but it's not from KDE.

I suspect there's some ubuntu patches that breaks the count

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of akregator (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
