Description William L. Thomson Jr. 2011-10-14 23:36:28 UTC
Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS: Linux

For some reason I cannot send email beyond I believe ~5kb. In reality the email does get sent, but kmail thinks it did not. It does try to resend, and each time it goes out, but kmail thinks it failed. I can send and receive emails under 5kb all day long. I can switch to a different email client, same email and server, email goes through just fine.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Compose a large email and try to send it

Actual Results:
Sending the email fails, but in reality it actually gets sent. Just kmail thinks it did not.

Expected Results:
Email is sent without error.

Its been months since I reported this. I still cannot send emails beyond 5k period. So glad I switched to Kmail from Evolution, which I never had problems with. I am a developer myself and can help resolve this problem. If someone would work with me, I am not familiar with the code base at all. Just amazed how problems like this would be ignored for months. I have two bugs that really effect my ability to work and make a living. Really trying to stick with KDE, but surely not feeling the love.

Turns out it was a problem with the MTA/spam proxy ASSP
