Sentry Crash Report:

Description Alan Jenkins 2011-10-14 14:14:26 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.1)
OS: Linux

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Log in using Unity (compiz window manager), "Gnome Classic" (metacity window manager), or Lubuntu (OpenBox window manager).
Start Kate.

Actual Results:
Kate will be horizontally maximized. If you try to resize it horizontally, you will find that the mouse cursor doesn't turn into a resize cursor; it just doesn't work. You can resize it vertically though.

Expected Results:
Kate should not start horizontally maximized, and it should be possible to resize the window horizontally as desired, even when started under non-KDE window managers.

Seems fixed in Kate 3.7 on Ubuntu 12.04 (tested in Guest login on unity and unity-2d).
