This used to be the default behavior and caused a lot of problems, as people wanted to add transactions prior to that date and could not enter them. From the log message of rev 1153976 on 2010-07-24: "Default the opening date for new accounts to be the first day of the fiscal year." BTW: did you know, that pressing the little icon in the lower left corner of the calendar widget left of the printed date selects the current date? No, I didn't know about that facility in the calendar widget, thanks. Now you have explained why this was done I am happy to close this. I remember the problem now. |
