Description Dimitrios Glentadakis 2011-10-09 09:57:52 UTC
Version: 4.6 (using KDE 4.6.5)
OS: Linux

In the search field with Ctrl+F in applications such konqueror or kwrite i cannot type a greek charactere with accent (eg: ά, ό, ί, έ)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Open the search field with Ctrl+F
type a greek character with accent

Actual Results:
After typing the character nothing happens

Expected Results:
render the typed character

workarround: if i close the field and reopen it or change the focus to another field, toolbar, and the focus again the search field, is possible to type the charactere with accent, for all the time the file is open. After exit and reopen the file, the behaviour is back again.

To reproduce it with a a latin keybord (azerty or qwerty) set the layout to greek, and to add an accent to the character eg "ο" you have to hit first the key right to the "L" and after hit the key "O" in the keyboard and you will have the "ό"

With the greek layout the keyboard becomes like this in the photo:

Confirmed in kde 4.8 development.
It also happens with spanish accents (like áéíóú).
