Reproduced by 1. opened a ext4 formated partition which not mounted as /home or so during installation. and bookmarked a folder(say 'abc') in it (Because I had a partition with my data). 2. shut down the system and restarted. 3. opened dolphin by clicking a folder in the desktop. 4. clicked bookmarked folder('abc') with out clicking the partition. Dolfin could not find the folder. but if done it after clicking the partition, it will work. Thanks for the bug report! I'm pretty sure that this has been reported already, but I can't find the report right now. Unfortunately, I think that there is no good way to fix this issue. In KDE 4.8.4 (4.8.4), in "System setting" -> "Removeable Devices" it ia possible to enable auto mount partitions on login. This will solve the problem. I like KDE Thank U On Tue, Aug 7, 2012 at 8:50 PM, Frank Reininghaus <frank78ac@googlemail.com>wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=283549 > > Frank Reininghaus <frank78ac@googlemail.com> changed: > > What |Removed |Added > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW > Summary|Folders in Certain |Clicking a folder on an > |partitions not showing |unmounted device in the > |contents immediately |Places Panel does not > mount > | |that device > Ever confirmed|0 |1 > > --- Comment #2 from Frank Reininghaus <frank78ac@googlemail.com> --- > Thanks for the bug report! Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719 Unless anyone knows a good way to find out which device must be mounted in order to access a bookmarked "Place", I'm afraid we can't do much about this issue. Sorry. bookmarked "Place", which is in the partitions that are not auto mounted in "System setting" -> "Removeable Devices" or manual mounted before. No warning is also issued. A folder in the mounted partition can be bookmarked but on next boot up. if not mounted it will not open. If proper warning is issued for bookmarking places in temporally mounted partition, to change 'removable device setting' or an option to change automount is given, its ok. more userfriendly it become. thank you On Thu, Jun 27, 2013 at 1:59 AM, Frank Reininghaus <frank78ac@googlemail.com > wrote: > https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=283549 > > Frank Reininghaus <frank78ac@googlemail.com> changed: > > What |Removed |Added > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Status|CONFIRMED |RESOLVED > Resolution|--- |WONTFIX > > --- Comment #6 from Frank Reininghaus <frank78ac@googlemail.com> --- > Unless anyone knows a good way to find out which device must be mounted in > order to access a bookmarked "Place", I'm afraid we can't do much about > this > issue.
