Description neil.david.sims 2011-09-28 20:54:46 UTC
Version: 0.10.5 (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS: Linux

Okular is great but it would be nice if the sidebar (contents, thumbnails, reviews, bookmarks) also had a file system browser, like the one in Kate. This would allow easy browsing across different pdfs without having to leave okular (or open extra dialogues).

Reproducible: Didn't try

Expected Results:
I'd like to click on a file icon in the sidebar (under the pencil and the star). This should open a file system browser / tree in the sidebar which includes directories and files. I'd like to double-click on the files to open them in the same okular window.

Hi, thanks for making this feature suggestion for Okular but we do not feel that this addition makes sense to what we want Okular to be so I'm closing down this bug report.

Thanks for caring about Okular :-)

I would also like this, and I think it would make sense especially in combination with tabs.

This way I could open my directory of pdf documents in tree view in the side bar, and quickly open several of them in tabs. I've done something similar with konqueror in the past, but it would be preferrable to have it directly in okular, e.g. since konqueror adds an additional status bar.
