Hi, I had used Ubuntu, then I decided to try KDE (and make it Kubuntu) so I installed all the packages I need and voila - I can run KDM login, but can log just into GNOME, not into KDE. If I try to log into KDE, it shows the ksplash and first icon, then it looks like it restarts X screen.


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Install KDE4.7.1  packages (Ubuntu oneiric), switch manager to KDM and try to log into KDE.

Actual Results:  
Restarts Xs after first icon in Ksplash

Expected Results:  
To work properly)

that's definitely not a kdm problem then.

Feel free to reopen the report if the problem still happens in recent versions ( KDE SC 4.8.4 or higher). Thanks.
