Sorry this is going to be a really lame bug report, but I don't have any other details.

I left my PC on all day, signed in to XMPP.
During the day I was also logged into my work machine also on XMPP.
I had several chats throughout the day from the client on my work machine, including some incoming conversations

When I returned to this PC I had a "new chat" envelope in my sys tray (as expected) but clicking it did nothing. It still worked, new incoming chats it showed the notification and behaved correctly, but it failed to hide the notification once I'd clicked on them.

It "seems" as if in jabber letting another client take the channel causes our approver to screw up.

Attempts to reproduce this issue with Dr. Danz were unsuccessful.

There was nothing in .xsessions-errors that was relevant.

I got it too... quite few times... and with the same user.
and always when he is behind some university firewall.

Since there is a bit useless context menu, I say let's use it for quitting the approver, ie. dismiss all events and close the status notifier.

Would that work?
