After todays update a black screen awaits you. No work possible. You hear startup sound. Logout with Ctrl+Alt+Delete is possible.

Same issue with
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/Distro:/Factory/openSUSE_11.4/

Failsafe login works fine with 1 screen.

Creating new user with Failsafe login and rebooting as normal, login to new user doesn't solve the problem.

System:
openSUSE 11.4 (x86_64), 4.7.00 (4.7.0) "release 10"
GeForce GTX 480, NVidia TwinView, http://download.nvidia.com/opensuse/11.4

Packages prior to 09/10 worked fine.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
Update KDE today.

Actual Results:  
Black screen, no work possible

Expected Results:  
At least something that gives you some hope.

The same happens to me using an Intel graphics card.

If you disable desktop effects you can work.

Thx, indeed.

'Alt + Shift + F12' gives you some hope without taking refuge to a 'Failsafe login' which changes your 'desktop config' a little bit as a side effect.
