Description allan 2011-08-30 23:10:41 UTC
Version: SVN trunk (using KDE 4.6.0)
OS: Linux

After updating to trunk, I noticed a lot of console messages and thought they could have erupted when I opened the Help menu. I tried agai, but no messages this time. So, I clicked Authors, and KMM crashed. The backtrace was said to be unhelpful.

The plague of console messages, I've seen before and I don't think they are related to the update of svn. They are on the lines of -
"
kmymoney(26969) KWidgetItemDelegateEventListener::eventFilter: User of KWidgetItemDelegate should not delete widgets created by createItemWidgets! "

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Start KMM, open the help menu and click Authors
.

Actual Results:
Crash.

Expected Results:
Authors box should open

See bugs 278157 and 276066. This is a known (upstream) QT bug, and only shows up if you do not have "use system colors" checked for the background colors tab in the configure KMyMoney screen. (The crash also happens with some help dialogs for plugins.)

However, those console messages do sound strange.

I thought I remembered something, and did two searches without result. Not hit the problem until tonight though.

I've noticed these crashes too. Maybe you should put that issue into errata.

I think this bug should be closed since it is a duplicate of 276066 and is hopefully being fixed in the upcoming QT 4.8. (See https://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/browse/QTBUG-19872 )
