Description Tristan Miller 2011-08-29 18:22:03 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.0)
OS: Linux

akonadi_mbox_resource occasionally appears to get stuck and start using 100% of the CPU. ps reports the process as follows:

18343 ? R 38:31 /usr/bin/akonadi_mbox_resource --identifier akonadi_mbox_resource_0

It will run indefinitely like this until it's killed.

I'm not able to consistently reproduce this problem; it seems to happen at random about once a month. If there's some way of getting a backtrace or further information, let me know and I'll be happy to submit it once the problem occurs again.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
Happens spontaneously.

Actual Results:
akonadi_mbox_resource hangs, eating CPU

Expected Results:
akonadi_mbox_resource should not hang and eat CPU

Does this still happen (e.g. current KDE 4.14.x) ?

When you want a backtrace, attach gdb to the process you already identified and issue the "bt"
command, but make sure you have the debug symbols installed

I haven't been able to reproduce the problem lately. I'm using KDE 4.14.3.

ok, then I'll close this bug for now. If you have it again, feel free to reopen.
Thanks.
