Do you have any files an a networked drive? The home-dir is served via nis/nfs. But I am loggend in as a user and have the same problem with the root user. I have also tried the newest 4.7 as well as kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental. [Comment from a bug report cleaner] That reminds me of a problem I had in the past ..... do you have a loopback network interface ? (it is just a very random guess) No, I do not have a loopback network. So far I have 'solved' the problem for my system, by disabling NIS on the computer and use the home-dir directly without NIS. After a reboot everything works now. At least for me, we can mark the bug as solved. [Comment from a bug report cleaner] In KDE3, a certain time I experienced really big delays, even with a local home folder. I noticed I lacked the "lo" interface (listed by "ifconfig"), because the system was a bit broken. Once I re-enabled it, KDE started to work normally. Anyways, I didn't use NFS, so I guess my problem is unrelated to yours. If this is happening with KDE 5, leave a comment. |
