Version:           2.4.3 (using KDE 4.7.0) 
OS:                Linux

Any .ape files droped to playlist just ignored.
In console:
kmimetype filetype guessing failed for /mnt/vo/e/music/pop/Mylene Farmer/1986 - Cendres de lune/Mylene Farmer - Cendres de lune.ape

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Just try to playback .ape file


Expected Results:  
listening to the music :)

That entirely depends on taglib-extras and the Phonon backend. Please make sure both are installed correctly,eventually try another phonon backend. We recommend both the gstreamer or the vlc backend.

I've tried both. Vlc and gstreamer.
libtag-extras is 1.0.1

Sorry for that.

I was confused by libtag-extras. But i don't have taglib-extras.
After installing taglib-extras everything work fine.

In fact i lied again.

libtag-extras and taglib-extras are the same.

Everything works with vlc backend, but not with gstreamer.
will try to install gstreamer-ugly  later.

Thank you for the feedback. You need indeed all codecs from gstreamer.

I've installed  ugly plugins, but still nothing.
About gstreamer: i've got:

But i still can't play ape files vie gstreamer backend.

Please check with your distribution that the ape playback is indeed enabled for taglib-extraas.

I can't find any compile options for taglib-extras.
So, how can i check it?
