Description m.wege 2011-08-02 11:02:17 UTC
Version: git-latest (using KDE 4.7.0)
OS: Linux

When telepathy starts Skype, the Skype icon is shown in the system tray. This is kind not usefull, since telepathy should manage Skype. I have not tested, since I have the settings already, but I assume, that telepathy also does not change settings of Skype so that chat window sounds and notifications are muted.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Expected Results:
Telepathy should hide Skype from the visuable system tray and (if not happening already) change settings that notification(s) (sounds) and chat windows of Skype do not appear.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 3.0.0-7-generic
Compiler: gcc

Skype is proprietary software, we don't have any chance to modify its behaviour.

In KDE you can hide system tray entries from System Tray Settings > Entries, find Skype and choose "Hidden" instead of "Auto".
You can also hide skype notifications from skype options.

Perhaps it could be possible to modify automatically notification events and sounds, but this should a bug of skype plugin for telepathy-haze, not of the contact list, therefore I'm closing this.
