Click settings->configure notifications from inside the text-UI. Then click on the "play a sound button" checkbox for the "incoming message" option. Report back if does/doesn't fix it. Or are you suggesting the defaults should be different? Yes, changing the defaults, was the intend of the bug report. I would expect that the default behaviour of an IM client. At the moment one even has to select the correct sound. Ok, there should definitely be a default sound set. As for whether it should be on by default - that's a matter of opinion. You say yes, I say no. I'm happy to be proved wrong by popular vote, but I'm not going to change it based on just yours. I'll bring it up in our next meeting - or if you want, ask on our mailing list and see what the general response is. I'm sure we can reach some compromise (maybe default for incoming chats, but not each message) A default sound is available (KDE-Im-Message-In.ogg), though the default configuration remains as it being disabled by default, as discussed at the KTP sprint. |
