Steps to reproduce the bug:

1) select an email where the following is "unread"

2) delete it 

-> the following email is selected and displayed on the preview, it is marked as read _and_ it loose immediatly the selection highlight on the list.

This is a problem because if you have a lot of emails it is difficult to identify the current displayed one.

I suggest two solutions:

a) dont't select anything (so nothing is marked as read and the preview stay empty)

b) doesn't loose the selection highlight on the list (I prefer this solution).

Cannot reproduce using 2.1.96 (4.7 rc2) version.
Please reopen if you can reproduce using 2.2 (4.7)
