(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: khelpcenter
Version: KDE 2.1.0
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: FreeBSD Ports
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Not Specified
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

The first place I turn to for help w/ KDE is the search feature in the help center-- it's great if you configure your search index correctly. But it can be very limiting if you only include "helpcenter" documents and adding help directories one at a time can be tedious and irritating.

A better option might be to locate all directories containing *.html files or those with "help" "doc" "man" etc. in the path. Present a checkbox dialog to the user with "Check the directories you'd like to add to the search path" and khelpcenter becomes the helpcenter for the entire system instead of just kde.
