Description jsm 2011-07-21 17:12:55 UTC
Version: 4.4.5 (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS: Linux

The terminal emulator does not follow directories as it did in KDE 3.5. I do not know if this feature was removed or if this is a bug.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1- Show Terminal Emulator.
2- Change directory in the main window.

Actual Results:
The terminal emulator does not run the cd command to change the directory.

Expected Results:
I expected the terminal emulator to run a cd command to change the directory to the one shown in the main window.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.36.3
Compiler: cc

This is exactly how behaves my konqueror from KDE SC 4.6.5.

I have just installed KDE SC 4.6.5 (Kubuntu), I have also tried with KDE 4.6.2. Konqueror does not behave like that in the new system (while in Dolphin the terminal emulator does follow the directory).

I have checked that in konqueror the terminal emulator does not receive the "cd" command but in dolphin, before the system changes the directory, a ctrl+c signal is issued. Could you confirm me this behaviour?

Could you tell me which system do you use?

I can still reproduce the reported problem using KDE SC 4.8 RC1.

Problem continues in 4.12.3.

I don't think I saw it cd after every change in the the filemanager, but at least it started up in the same subdirectory and stayed there. Since a recent upgrade I lost this and have to cd manually to the open directory.

Please ignore my report. I was accessing a remote directory through ssh. Although it would be nice feature, it does not open an ssh session yet.
