Created attachment 61756 [details] patch removing explicit encoding Version: unspecified OS: Linux Hi! Sorry for my English. Various localized manual pages have a different character set (f.e. koi8-r in Russia) and displayed incorrectly in khelpcenter because of an explicit encoding (utf-8 or vorse ISO-8859-1) in the kio_man output. If you apply a patch from the attachment and set encoding autodetection in the khtml settings, then everything is displayed correctly. For example for Russian locale khtml settins in file ~/.kde4/share/config/khelpcenterrc [HTML Settings] AutomaticDetectionLanguage=7 DefaultEncoding= In addition to the attached patch it is have to have correct value for key AutomaticDetectionLanguage in accordance with user-selected language(locale). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: launch khelpcenter -> Unix manual pages -> look any manual having an encoding other than utf-8 Actual Results: an unrecoverable gibberish Expected Results: readable manual page
