Description S. Burmeister 2011-07-07 09:30:19 UTC
Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS: Linux

Since upgrading to 4.7 RC1 it happens from time to time that I cannot minimise windows by clicking on the taskbar, i.e. their task. This happens to others as well, so I'm pretty sure it's not only a local issue. Yet we have not yet found a way to reproduce it reliably.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
use taskbar to minimise windows

Actual Results:
fails sometimes, sometimes only for maximised windows, sometimes even for "normal" windows.

Expected Results:
minimise on click

a) can you minimize the window normally?
b) can you minimize the window from the taskbats rmb menu (afair there's such)
c) can you ensure the window is activated (i think that's the way it works, isn't)
d) please dump "xprop > unminimizable_client.txt" and attach that here

I think I found a clue. I have two monitors. The VGA one is placed above the notebooks's via KDE's display settings. If I maximise a window on the external monitor which does not have a panel minimising on the notebook#s monitor does not work anymore.

Maximising a window on a second display should not affect the first one though.

The next two attachments are of the same window, the first one where it is not minimisable because gwenview is maximised on the second display. The second attachment is xprop when it is minimisable, because gwenview is not maximised.

the maximised window on the external display is minimiseable. :)

probably a dupe.
please ensure that minimizing via the minimize button does still work (should, there's nothing in the props preventing this) - otherwise rather unset the dupe state.
