in compiz there is a way to configure shortcuts using the mouse buttons and\or the screen edges.
this are very powerful combinations that really makes life easier and work flow much faster.

I understand exactly what you ask for- but there are two features mixed together in this description. Let me explain why I am about to close your bug as a "duplicate" of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=96431:

(1) KWin already provides good user control of "Screen Edge" effects.

(2) The ability to enhance your number of "invocation choices" for desktop effects, by adding mouse event/mouse status, "mouse shortcuts", is already covered by bug 96431 (in one way) or bug 171295 (in a different way). KWin cannot use mouse buttons for desktop switching and other effects (e.g., "close window, because KDE has no easy way to create such shortcuts anywhere. (At this time.)

Please comment if I have misunderstood, and I am mistaken in marking this bug as a duplicate of 96431.
