Description Rob D 2011-06-21 02:02:48 UTC
Version: 2.4.0 (using KDE 4.6.2)
OS: Linux

Sometimes no dot appears in the progress bar, indicating progress. When it doesn't appear, it's not possible to skip to other parts of the song by clicking on the progress bar.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
Play a file in Amarok. These are local files, mostly mp3s.
It seems to happen only sometimes, though I can see no specific pattern about when or why.

Actual Results:
Upon starting playback or switching to a new song:
Sometimes the dot appears and behaviour is normal.
Sometimes absolutely no dot appears.
Sometimes a dot appears for a brief moment, then disappears until the song is changed.
Sometimes no dot appears initially, but then one appears after the song has been playing for about 3 seconds.

Expected Results:
The dot should always appear, immediately.

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.38-8-generic
Compiler: cc

Let me guess: you use the phonon-backend-gstreamer, right? then this is a duplicate of bug 237298
Comment 2 Rob D 2011-06-21 11:59:17 UTC
I've checked, yes, it seems to be the same bug.
I will see if I can get around to testing comment #19 on that bug.
