Description Janet 2011-06-17 18:20:45 UTC
Version: 1.6.1 (using KDE 4.6.3)
OS: Linux

When I click on a URL link in dolphin it tries to open the default webbrowser. In my case that's chromium (but also tested with arora and firefox, and with different users). Instead of opening the browser it only gives an error message that the application "chromium-browser.desktop" (arora.desktop etc.) is not available.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Open systemsettings, choose another browser than konqueror as default webbrowser. Don't type the name of the browser in the field but use the chooser.

Then create some URL link in dolphin or use an existing one, click on it and see the error message.

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.39-1.slh.8-aptosid-686
Compiler: gcc

The bug you've reported is probably a systemsetting bug but, trying to reproduce it I've found an odd dolphin behaviour: the address bar is replaced with the URL address of the file and the dolphin sorting changes... I will report it separately.

I want to add that if you manually write the browser name it will works.
