Please add the backtrace for the crash. For more information, see http://techbase.kde.org/User:DarioAndres/Basic_Guide_about_Crash_Reporting If you are indeed using KDE version 4.4, I suggest to update to a newer version. Additionally, you should try with a freshly added user account to rule out stale configuration files. I am dumb.. I don't know how to run a back trace.. I went to KDE page and read for an hour and am lost still.. I appreciate your help. this is great.. I don't know how to install the lastest version. I am new to this and a smart friend provided me with this system. I have liked using it so far. although I don't know how to download and install any programs. I would like to learn..
