system does not accept a resolution of 1024x768. 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Every time I turn on or reboot the system opens at 800x600, and I have to adjust the screen resolution.

This is not a KDE problem. Please ask in Ubuntu forums which system tools are offered to configure the available screen resolutions.
