Version:           unspecified (using KDE 4.6.3)
OS:                Linux

In its current version, kwin offers an effect which helps tracking the mouse cursor by showing some stars around it when a shortcut is pressed (which is very, very useful to me).

It would be nice if this effect could be extended (or rather a new variant be added) which, when pressing the key combination, shows a crosshair, i.e. horizontal and vertical lines extending over the whole screen crossing at the cursor position.

This would be great for helping to find the mouse cursor but could also be used for quick visual measuring/aligning of objects on the screen (some kind of kruler functionality). I have no idea how much effort it would be to implement this kind of feature, but to me, it sounds easier to implement than the yellow stars encircling the cursor now (o;

Reproducible: Didn't try

Sorry, I forgot that I had already filed this request some time ago (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=217196), so this is just a duplicate.
