When clicking the system tray drop down menu, some of the text that appears is garbled. See attachment.

no attachment; but almost certainly the text misplacement bug that was fixed already.

I don't know if this is the same bug, necessarily, but I do see the same behaviour.

I have this too, very annoying and can prevent using the mouse to access some hidden entries. Any workarounds?

People, if you say you see the bug this is not really useful without stating the exact KDE version you can reproduce this. 

If you can indeed reproduce this with KDE 4.8 or later then this report should indeed be reopened, but please try with the latest KDE 4.9.0 or later to make sure.
