You usually unmount a device before unplugging it - even if all files are copied on the usb device you could have data loss when unplugging the device without unmounting it. Its like disconnecting the power plug withouth shuting down, thats the reason why KDE gives you several ways to unmount the device (dolphin and systray), I consider this not as bug. I know, that I have to unmount it first and ok, it is not a real bug, but...: In my school, we have serveral linux systems installed, which the teachers and students can use. Normally they are not familiar with linux/kde and so, they just plug out the usb device, when the copy dialog closes. On windows, the dialog closes not before all files have been copied. I think, this should be on linux/kde too, so the users are not confused. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 195044 *** |
