Description Kai Uwe Broulik 2011-05-20 00:46:44 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.3)
OS: Linux

Closing windows from Present Windows effect is a bit difficult since you need to hover a window, wait for the X to appear and then click it. It should be possible to click on a window with the middle mouse button to close it like you can close a tab.

Reproducible: Always

Available for years - just look at the config.
Comment 2 Kai Uwe Broulik 2011-05-20 12:35:33 UTC
Ah ok. But why not make it default, since the config is a bit feature rich.

Because closing a window is a destructive operation and the user might not expect it.

So, moving a file to trash is also a destructive action and there is no confirmation by default when hitting Del. And yes, there’s the Trash but yes there are “Do you want to save before exiting?” dialogs.
But ok, fine.

The matching equivalent would be the close button here, yesno?

> and there is no confirmation by default when hitting Del.
"Del" says "Del", but the user might attempt to tabbify tow windows this way.
Also a window switcher is not like a filemanager and the user should have no fear to explore it at all.

> But ok, fine.
Yes, fine ;-)
