Konqueror in-webpage search highlights text ahead of the found search term

Version: 4.4.5 (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS: Linux

when searching within the page, e.g. for "login" on the KDE bug reporting login page, if Konqueror finds the search term, within the page Konqueror highlights characters different from the search term, usually ahead of the location of the actual search term, cf. attached screen shot.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
Does not happen all the time, but when it does, it's usually when redoing a search; I'm having this wrong rendering effect all the time but don't have a clue yet what exactly is needed to reproduce it. ... IIRC, it might even happen to kate (!) searches.

Actual Results:
highlighting appears before the search term

Expected Results:
the search term should be highlighted

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-5-686
Compiler: cc

Here's one occurence of this bug: I searched for something in a form field (mediawiki editor), deleted the found snippet, re-searched using F3 => bang highlighting goes wrong
