Description kranthi 2011-05-17 20:33:53 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.5)
OS: Linux

Unable to unmount usb and optical disk media the second time when the first time is unsuccessful because the device is busy or some other program is accessing the device.
Used the
fuser -m /dev/sr0
to find out if any programs are accessing, but no programs were found. Used
fuser -k /dev/sr0
to kill any programs accessing the device but no programs were killed.
But I am still getting the message.
Cd/dvd don't come out until ejected. I have to restart the system because the media is physically inaccessible without unmounting.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
open a file in the mounted media and unmount the media.
It will not happen.
But after closing the file and after making sure that no files are being accessed, unmount the media.

Actual Results:
It will give the same error. i.e., device is busy or some other program is accessing the device

Expected Results:
the device should have been unmounted successfully

Can you test if this is still reproducible with 4.7 and/or 4.8?

Thanks !

Going to close this bug since I'm pretty sure we have fixed it (I remember closing a bug really similar to this one) and no feedback has been provided during the last 10 months.

If you are still able to reproduce the bug please, feel free to reopen the bug!
