Description Wojciech 2011-05-14 23:14:57 UTC
Version: 2.3.2 (using KDE 1.2)
OS: Linux

When konsole background is set to black and it's maximized or made full screen it first paints white or gray then gets black. Doing this on a big screen is hurting eyes.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Minimize and then maximize konsole when background is set to black.

Actual Results:
Konsole is first white or light-grey then black.

Expected Results:
Instant black background with no flashing.

Try starting Konsole with "konsole --notransparency". Some video drivers have issues with ARGB windows.

It still happens. When computer is overloaded it's easy to spot drawing of konsole. First it has a light background before the main widget appears and then black window with text.

Try to open 2x fullscreen konsole and then switch between them with i.e. alt+tab quickly. You should be able to see white flashes.
