In KDE4 Krusader uses KDE's KIO modules - you can open notification area and see progress bar, details etc. As you can run many jobs at the same time then it's not possible to display such info in Krusader's main info. For example see screenshots at http://pindablog.wordpress.com/2009/05/04/jobs-and-notifications-in-the-plasma-systray/ I will close this bug as "invalid" if you don't mind. Thanks for replying that fast. First I have to clarify that it's not the krusader main window I excepted to see the progress of the copy process in its title. There are separate windows, one for each copy process, that show the progress of each process (same as in KDE 3). Does KIO open these progress windows? Then I have to file the bug report against KIO, I think. BTW, using the system tray notification as you suggested is rather inappropriate for me, because - you can see the progress only when you open the notification panel (which you do not want to see all the time, and therefore, you always have to use the mouse to get to this information again) - I actually do not have plasma on my machines (I'm still using the KDE 3 desktop, since it's much faster) I would say it's a bit "non-standard" environment. I don't know KIO internals. You have "Version: 2.3.0 (using KDE 4.6.2)" in original report, so I guess you use KIOs from kdelibs-4.6.2? We could try to pass this bug to KIO people and check if thay can help. Yes, KIOs is from kdelibs-4.6.2. Although KDE 3 may be a non-standard environment now, there are actually quite a lot users not having plasma (gnome user, xcfe users, ...) but using popular KDE applications such as krusader. Using an older environment isn't really supported. The task manager buttons in Plasma 5 at least display a progress bar that moves across them. Yeah, let's close this issue. The progress of copy processes is visible again. The issue is anyway very, very old (2011). |
