Well, they are called keyboard shortcuts, so they were never intended to work with mouse buttons. But those extended mouse buttons should still be supported, at least for the use case you mentioned. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 34362 *** Is this really a duplicate of that bug? That bug wants support for additional mouse keys and does not concern the system shortcuts, while this one wants any mouse keys, not just additional ones to work with the system shortcuts.
