crash dump. Full crash report.

Version: 4.0 (using KDE 4.4.4)
OS: Linux

Immediately after I login to KDE I see a report that knotify crashed every time.
Something about a "segmentation fault."

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Running Ubuntu Linux 10.04 on an Intel dual core E3400 2.8 Ghz CPU with 2 gigs memory and Intel G31 chipset. After startup choose KDE and sign in and login. I immediately see a box saying Knotify crashed, "segmentation fault."

Actual Results:
crash notification, KDE still runs fine.

Expected Results:
It should have run quietly in the background until a fault occurred.

Computer config above in "steps to reproduce."

What versions of gstreamer, gstreamer-plugins-good, phonon-backend-gstreamer, and phonon do you have?

It looks to me like this is a pulseaudio alsa plugin bug. Odd that you don't seem to be using the pulsesink. Perhaps you've configured Phonon to not use pulseaudio?
Comment 2 Harald Sitter 2011-05-04 11:19:59 UTC
10.04 did not use PulseAudio IIRC.
Comment 3 Harald Sitter 2011-05-04 11:20:19 UTC
...not Kubuntu anyway

Closing for lack of feedback. Please feel free to reopen if you can reproduce this with Phonon 4.6.0 or later and provide the requested feedback.
