Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.2)
OS: Linux

It's no secret that LILO and GRUB1 are on the way out. Syslinux and GRUB2 have native support for ext4 among other improvements.

Add 'Syslinux' and 'GRUB2' to the list of boot managers in the 'Shutdown' section of KDM's KCM. Perhaps assign this task to Alberto Mattea.

Reproducible: Always

GRUB2 support already taken care of here: https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/101152/

Thank-you very much for implementing GRUB2 support so promptly. The timing is right, since the GRUB website states that GRUB1 has already become GRUB-Legacy. Perhaps someone else would like to follow Kon's lead and add Syslinux support.

KDM is unmaintained and not used in KDE Plasma 5.

SDDM is the login manager used in KDE Plasma 5. If you still have this same issue with SDDM, please file an issue on the SDDM bugtracker (after doing a search for existing issues first!): https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/
