that these are listed as new users may not realise that they are part of ubuntu distributions

Could you be more specific about which application exibit this problem? Where are this list you are talking about?

when reporting bugs in bugzilla is the list I mean

Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Xubuntu are the same distribution. Only the desktop environment installed by default is different.
