screenshot of the problem left with digikam , right with ksnaphot
on the right you can see the error ksnapshot shows , even selecting an image from the ccomputer, because "send to" doesn't link the right file too
Also true for KSnapshot 0.8.2 on KDE 4.6.2. Workaround is to either drag the thumbnail onto the application if that's possible (i.e. with The GIMP, after it starts up and complains about not being able to open the file), or more universally, hit the "Take a new snapshot" button. The problem is due to KSnapshot not creating the temp file when it starts up initially, despite the fact that it takes a snapshot, and displays a thumbnail. Taking a new snapshot once it is open creates the temp file correctly, and gives all Kipi plugins something to open. This bug is annoying as it creates a longer delay between wanting to grab the screen as it is now, and getting it, meaning you might miss what you aimed for. Same bug with KDE 4.6.4 *** Bug 298486 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** OH!! I just filed a duplicate one today, a year later..... Way to go... Hello! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this project has been unmaintained for many years and I will be closing this bug. Spectacle is the replacement for ksnapshot now. Please test again and file a new bug for Spectacle if you still have issues. Thank you! |
