Sentry Crash Report:

Description Charlie Figura 2011-03-27 16:42:26 UTC
Version: 4.6 beta4 (using KDE 4.6.1)
OS: Linux

When kontact is running, mailto commands (from firefox, konqueror, rekonq, and command line) fail with this popup message:

"Kontact seems to be running on another display on this machine. Running Kontact and KMail at the same time can cause the loss of mail. You should not start KMail unless you are sure that Kontact is not running."

If kontact is NOT running at all, or if ONLY kmail is running (but not kontact), behavior of the mailto works correctly.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Run kontact (with kmail2 plugin), try a mailto.

Actual Results:
Warning popup window appears every time.

Expected Results:
A kmail composer window should appear.

I did a little further testing - if I tell the popup warning to go ahead and start kmail, I *do* get my message mailto. And future activiations of mailtos (from firefox, for example) will work properly.

This resets after a reboot and the problem presents itself again.
