Description S. Burmeister 2011-03-19 11:03:34 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.1)
OS: Linux

If one tries to send a message and the server replies that the authentication failed kmail just pops-up a small notification which goes away after some seconds. The user is not even able to read the whole text.

If akonadi notices that authentication for a server fails it issues a dialogue that asks whether one wants to open the settings for that dialogue and change the password.

I think that kmail should do the same a) to have a consistent behaviour towards the user and b) because it gives the user to change the password with less clicks.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Testing with 4.10 and sending a mail with invalid authetication credentials pops up a dialog here asking me "You need to supply a username and a password to use this SMTP server".
