(Maybe related to oxygen theme or kdelibs or whatever)

Oxygen‘s theme features a transition between sub windows (i.e. you click on another tab and it fades or in systemsettings sub windows). This transition would be nice when navigating folders as well, i.e. you click on a folder and then its contents get faded. Although I don‘t know if this is easily possible as I think you‘ll then need two folderviews, one for the current and then one for the next folder that gets faded and otherwise you just change the directory?

Reproducible: Always

This is very tricky at the moment... It is planned in the longterm to use "ng-itemviews" based on QML that are probably (?) shipped with Qt 4.8 to do things like this.

I did some tests with the new view-engine. Although animations can be done pretty fast with the new view-engine they decrease the performance for loading the new directory. Technically it would be possible now to do such a thing but based on the current feedback regarding other animations people are very sensible if an animation decreases the speed of their workflow...

Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719
Comment 4 Christoph Feck 2017-09-20 23:34:36 UTC
Reassigning back. This has to be implemented inside Dolphin (if at all).

Given there have been no votes or comments, I suggest to close as WONTFIX.
