Resetting assignee to default as per bug #305719 I know this is 8 years old, but still very much an annoyance, to the point that I maintain a patched package for Arch Linux's AUR: dolphin-meld It uses meld rather than kompare (I simply cannot figure out how to be productive with kompare), uses meld's icon rather than kompare's (meld's is actually hideous in the Papirus theme, but it seems the proper thing to do), and allows for up to three documents to be selected and compared. I'll attach the patch file, in case it helps someone interested in this bug. Created attachment 119031 [details]
dolphin-meld patch
The patch is still working fine as of dolphin 19.12.0, if anyone's interested. This would be great as a global setting. Kdevelop and Kate also seem to have no UI to set the diff tool. Krusader has it however. *** Bug 420637 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** thanks andydecleyre@gmail.com for, patch. but it doesn't seem to work on dolphin 20.08.1 I installed the version available in AUR but even with the meld installed it is not displayed as an option to compare the files. The strange thing is that when I installed kompare the option was available but it still opens kompare and not meld @Podagric The patch continues to work fine here. My guess is that you're using a diff/compare plugin, which the patch doesn't affect. It only affects the built-in Compare Files action, available under the Tools menu, or as a toolbar button. yes it is i got it working. but it is only displayed in the Tools menu or the toolbar, not the right click as with Kompare |
