Description Lukas 2011-03-03 17:34:46 UTC
Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.6.0)
OS: Linux

After second screen is attached (1280*1024), main panel is moved to the external display.

However it keeps it's old width (1440px), and gets cropped. Trying to resize panel fixes the bug - the maximum width is again normal.

Looks like, panel is unaware of the move and doesn't check its width.

Intel HD graphics card is used, display resized using KDE's display module.

Reproducible: Always

One thing just happened:

1. Added a new default panel to the left screen

2. left clicked the task manager plasmod on left screen in the empty are (no windows was open) and opened its settings. - the settings got opened in the RIGHT monitor.

3 Same as 2, but by the time of opening settings dialog, task manager plasmoid was full of open windows. This time dialog appeared on correct screen.

4. Closed all windows and repeated action 2. Once more - dialog on wrong screen

Later couldn't reproduce faulty behavior.

** Can't there be some cache left in work flow of getting displays information? **

Is this still valid for KDE 4.8.3 or trunk?

Hello! Plasma 4 was replaced by Plasma 5 four years ago by the KDE community. In that time we have made great strides in stability and functionality. We are closing all Plasma 4 bugs as most of them are no longer applicable to the new frameworks Plasma 5 is built upon. If you could, please re-test with the latest version of Plasma 5, and submit a new bug to "plasmashell" if you continue to have an issue. Thank you!
